Thought of the Day
Paul, with all of his great intellects, he taught… he was taught by Gamaliel to be a great priest or rabbi, someday. And he had high ambitions. He was intellectually a great man, great authority, great man in the nation. But he had to sacrifice every bit of it, see, to become part of the Word, to express Jesus Christ. ~ 63-0728 CHRIST IS THE MYSTERY OF GOD REVEALED
How can we be the Word when our ambitions are outside of the Word? I don’t mean we need to quit our jobs, but we should examine our motives for everything we do. Why do we have the job we do? Why do we live where we live? The life of Christ is motivated by only the Will of God. Paul had to sacrifice everything to win Christ, and by “winning” Christ he became a prisoner to Christ. His intellect, his ambitions, became a hindrance to Christ in him and had to go.
Job 42:2-4 King James Version (KJV)
1 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. 3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
